Prevention

A poster in China encourages
precautions against SARS.
SARS has no treatment or cure, but it can be prevented through easy steps. Some methods are washing your hands frequently, avoiding large crowds, and avoiding direct contact with SARS patients’ bodily fluids are some simple procedures.
The Center for Disease Control (CDC), is working to prevent another SARS outbreak. They are working with federal agencies, state and local health departments, and healthcare organizations. The CDC has made a plan for rapid recognition and a response of SARS. So far, they have developed recommendations and guidelines for people to follow in case an outbreak occurs.
The World Health Organization (WHO) also contributes to the preparedness of another SARS outbreak. They have made a similar guideline and continue to update their progress on the SARS situation.
