A recorded total of 38 countries were infected with SARS. It was mostly in Asia, especially China and Hong Kong. It was also common in the United States and Canada.
It was also prevalent in careers dealing with food, such as food handlers and chefs. Because of the cultural and exotic cuisine practices in the area, it brings animals and humans closer together. In such an enclosed area, pathogens can easily genetically mutate and leap from animals to humans.
